Oh the road well traveled… Found myself in Venice Beach, CA and just wanted to find some simple fare. Found the Library Alehouse and was not disappointed. Great tap list full of delicious regional brews. I had a couple rounds of Russian River Pliny The Elder IPA which was awesome. I paired it with the Ale house burger and which was cooked to perfection. Service was casual and on point. Not stuffy and super pleasant. Staff seems to genuinely know and connect with many of the patrons. It’s a pub so I’m not sure if I’d bring the kids but I would bring my dog if Moose was with me. Overall very good experience!

“The saddest salad in LA” says long time local and patron. I’ve been a patron of the Library Ale House ordering a couple of times a month for years. This is now the third order in a row in less than a month I’ve received a $20 dinner salad that is smaller than a side salad. It’s really disappointing to see small businesses ripping off consumers over portion sizes. Like it would have cost your bottom line a $1 to beef up this portion size? Shame on you! I’m over it.

Great location close to the beach! Food is fresh and well made. Good atmosphere too. Definitely recommend the fish tacos.

I think when I read about this place and that it was a "library" ale house I thought it meant it would have a massive selection of beer. Essentially they have stapled various books to the wall (hence the term - library). I thought this concept was nifty but the beer selection wasn't as large as I would have expected. The beer selection itself is not super special. I think having more local beers would have also been cool, and maybe 2-3 per category. The food was okay but a bit overpriced. It was fun to try one time but I don't think I would be back. (I updated this slightly and lost the response from the business because of this). To library ale house... when I think large selection of beers I would assume 30-40. I guess having that all on tap would be impossible so would have to also consist of bottled beers. This was not a terrible place. I mean I am sure local patrons love it. I just thought that for the price of the beer and food selection (I am vegetarian so maybe that's harder to accommodate on the menu), it was a 3 to 4 stars.

The ambiance sets the mood here, super relaxed yet classy with eco-friendly vibes. The food was great and their ale selection was superb! We had asked if we could order a beer flight and they were all for it - made our night. We chose a wonderful selection. Shockingly, I walked out of there with a great liking for the Offshoot Ale. Very bold and rich with Amarillo. We dined in at that back which was almost like a green house! How neat. The service was tremendously good here. Will definitely come back if I ever am back in this area.

Great beer selection and an incredible menu. The crispy fish tacos and hell burger were outstanding. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Order the lemon cheesecake for dessert!

This is where I ended up for Friday date night. I love the location "Main Street" in the heart of the Venice food district. Our waitress was excellent warm and friendly. They offer a variety of food options. Everything we ordered turned out great and was freshly prepared. The interior of the restaurant is amazing there is more room and large tv's located in the rear of the building. A great place for date night.
